US Dept. of Education’s New Parent Council: What Will It Do?
Posted by Education Week on June 21, 2022
The US Department of Education has introduced the National Parents and Families Engagement Council which will work to identify how families can better engage with local school districts to ensure students have the support they need to succeed. The council will hold its first meeting in the coming weeks.
Consisting of members from parent and family organizations across the country, the council will help families understand their rights, create a feedback loop with schools to shape how American Rescue Plan funds are used, and identify summer learning and enrichment opportunities for children, according to a news release.
