Uri Monson, CFO, Presents: Philadelphia School District Budget, FY 2022 – Jun 17
Posted by Philadelphia Education Fund on June 1, 2021
What does it look like to prepare for the year ahead, when the year that passed was so unpredictable? Federal stimulus dollars are on their way. How is the School District looking to deploy these funds to serve near-term needs and set students up for long-term success? These are just some of the questions Uri Monson, Chief Financial Officer of the School District of Philadelphia, is working to answer. With the anticipated return of students to school, new costs associated with COVID safety to be budgeted, and the path and speed of economic recovery uncertain, there is much for the School District to consider as it puts together its nearly $4 billion budget for FY22.
A favorite presenter every year at our Education First Compact, this June Mr. Monson shares with us the challenges that lie ahead for the School District budget, the impact of the COVID pandemic on revenue and expense decisions, and possible implications for our students and our schools.
