UrbanPromise Ministries: Education Coordinator

UrbanPromise Ministries is looking for a self-motivated individual with good organizational and interpersonal skills to work as the Education Coordinator for the StreetLeader (SL) program.  The SL program enhances the social, spiritual, educational, and occupational development of teens while providing positive jobs and leadership opportunities in the community.  Applicants must have experience working with urban youth and in college preparation.  This position reports to the StreetLeader Director.

The Education Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Developing and leading a college prep program for 8th through 12th graders including educating parents.
  • Developing and leading a college application support process for the teens including applications, financial aid, scholarship applications, standardized tests, and fee waivers
  • Conducting one-on-one meetings with parents and teens to develop education goals.
  • Planning and leading college tours for teens.
  • Providing transportation for teens to and from educational activities.
  • Mentoring teens and supporting the SL program priorities,  goals, and activities.
