JOIN THE URBAN VOTERS CAMPAIGN AT OUR RECEPTION
What: National Constitution Day Kick-Off Reception to announce the Urban Voters Campaign. (http://www.urbanvoters.org)
Who: League of Women Voters of Philadelphia * Institute for the Study of Civic Values* Campus Philly* Philadelphia Cares * Philadelphia Citizens for Children & Youth * Philadelphia Higher Education Network for Neighborhood Development (PHENND)* NAACP * School District of Philadelphia
When: Wednesday September 17th, 5:30 – 7PM
Where: City Hall, Conversation Hall – 2nd floor
Why: To launch the Urban Voters Campaign and to announce the resolution passed in City Council on Sept. 11th declaring September as Voter Registration/Voter Education Month and honoring the League of Women Voters. Come hear about individual efforts as well as a new joint effort – the Kids Vote Mock Election – aimed at increasing voter participation in Philadelphia. There is no better way to strengthen American democracy – and America itself – than to increase the number of people who vote and are educated about elections.
