School District of Philadelphia’s Teacher Residency Program
The School District of Philadelphia’s (SDP) Teacher Residency Program prepares educators in science, math, or special education fields to become certified Pennsylvania teachers through the Urban Teaching Apprenticeship Program at Penn GSE. This residency program offers teacher residents a salary of $38,611, plus benefits, and guarantees each resident a teaching position after successful completion of the Urban Teaching Apprenticeship Program.

Eligible candidates must have a recent passing Praxis score in either a math, science, or English language arts content area and be admitted to the Urban Teaching Apprenticeship Program. Applications to the Urban Teaching Apprenticeship Program must be submitted by April 15, 2019, to be considered for the SDP Teacher Residency Program.

Humanities Teaching Fellowship
The Penn GSE Humanities Teaching Fellowship is intended to support the preparation of teachers in high school English and/or history who are interested in teaching in schools that support students through student-centered approaches and use innovative tools for learning. The Humanities Teaching Fellows will be awarded a scholarship of $32,000. Eligible candidates must apply for admission to the UTAP M.S.Ed., Secondary Grades 7-12, English or Social Studies, by April 15, 2019; following an offer of admission the applicant must schedule an interview to be considered for the Fellowship.
