Since 2001, the Urban Forum has focused exclusively on urban neighborhood business district revitalization. Come be a part of this amazing opportunity to meet more than 750 commercial revitalization colleagues from around the nation and participate in three days of professional development, knowledge sharing and networking. This year the Urban Forum will focus on ?Impacts and Outcomes,? highlighting LISC?s successful efforts to help CDCs revitalize commercial corridors in addition to the work of a broad range of community development practitioners from across the country.
Conference highlights include:
* 33 leadership workshops and sessions covering successful strategies and techniques for commercial district revitalization
* Keynote presentations by internationally respected community development experts, including Monsignor William J. Linder of New Community Corporation in Newark, NJ
* Neighborhood tours exploring the outstanding work community-based organizations are doing in Bay Area neighborhoods
* Bay Area greetings from San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom (invited), and Oakland Mayor Edmund G. Brown Jr. (invited)
* Urban Retail Trends Update Closing Plenary with Prabal Chakrabarti, Deputy Director of Research at Initiative for a Competitive Inner City; Tom Moseman, Vice President of Envirosell; and Eric Price, Senior Vice President for Neighborhood Markets at LISC.
