Posted by on May 08, 2012
The K-16 Partnerships Institute will be held June 6th-7th at the School District of Philadelphia from 9:30AM-4:00PM. Please Register Here: K-16 Partnerships Institute Registration
The goal of the Institute is to bring together the diverse constituents in our Network including non-profits, IHE faculty and staff, School District administrators and students to learn from each other, reflect on all the work that has been done over the past year and to set concrete goals for the upcoming year.
This year’s Institute focuses on how all sectors that serve youth (from K-16 in to the job market) can support “pipelines” of academic success and student leadership in Philadelphia. Our goal is to highlight and increase partnerships that serve students being educated K-12 in Philadelphia public schools who will hopefully go on to attend local colleges universities and in turn be hired by local institutions, businesses and nonprofits. Our mission is to increase communication and mutual benefit between schools and community partners and to increase the quality of these partnerships so that these pipelines for success are strong and sustainable. Helping to provide young people with opportunities that will transform their lives and ensure that they will be the next generation of change makers is not a “supplementary” pursuit, it is vital to our survival locally and globally. In Philadelphia this begins by helping to create positive pipelines from K-16 and out into the workforce.
