United Way’s Community Calendar
Posted by on November 05, 2012
Please allow me to introduce you all to a wonderful resource that your United Way’s “Community Action Center (CAC)” is making available to agencies interested in promoting their community events and/or recruiting volunteers to support the work that they are doing in this region.
For those who aren’t familiar with the CAC, it is the region’s premier source for volunteer and community engagement opportunities for individuals, families, companies, and civic groups.
UWGSPSNJ’s Community Calendar (http://www.unitedforimpact.org/ways-to-engage/volunteer) is a web-based hub where those interested can find “real-time” volunteer opportunities, and similarly, community stakeholders can learn more about “goings-on/events” being held in the community.
Also note, knowing the nature of your work and the fact that to date, we have over 25,000 individuals subscribed on the tool’s weekly “E-Blast”, this would be a great opportunity to gain more visibility and garner more community-based volunteers to support your work.
Please consider this tool in your volunteer recruitment efforts. For more information about how to use this tool, or to submit volunteer/event information for posting, please contact our Volunteer Hotline: 215.665.2501
