Unified Sports: Strategies for Inclusive Sports Programming – Feb 23

At the end of 2020, the Collaborative launched the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion education series. We had an incredible response and participation in our first 3 sessions, and hope you will join us for this upcoming program.
February 23, 10:00-11:30 AM – Unified Sports: Strategies for Inclusive Sports Programming – Led by Special Olympics PA. This session will expand on participants’ general understanding of intellectual and developmental disabilities to support athlete-centered coaching and inclusive program implementation by sharing specific strategies for inclusion. The Special Olympics Unified Sports model, a program that promotes social inclusion through sports and competition opportunities by joining together people with and without disabilities on the same team – will be highlighted. Participants will also practice developing coaching strategies for inclusive sports activities by designing a practice plan.
