Uneasy Peace: The Great Crime Decline,the Renewal of City Life, and the Next War on Violence

Listening to the news or politicians, we might assume that crime rates remain high or are even on the increase in cities.

Sharkey reviews the evidence that violent crime rates have fallen steeply over the past two decades in American cities, and examines explanations for their decline.
