UNDERSTANDING HOW BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICTS (BIDS) OPERATE

The objective of this course is to familiarize participants with the fundamentals of Business Improvement Districts (BIDs). The course will feature the following:
? Legal fundamentals and BID principles; Benefit Districts; Evolution and State law.
? Services and improvements ? how BIDs have been used; BID potential: on commercial industrial and residential areas.
? BID governance and management; legal structure and operational options.
? Assessments
? Funding; the perils of voluntary financing options.

Executive Directors, Commercial Corridor Managers and Board members.
