As part of our mission to build the media and communications infrastructure of a movement to end poverty led by poor and working people, Media Mobilizing Project is looking to expand our operations team. We are hiring a part-time Office Manager and a part-time Bookkeeper/Accountant. We look to bring on new staff to play these key roles in March 2012.

Media Mobilizing Project Office Manager – Philadelphia, PA
Job Description:
Media Mobilizing Project (MMP) is hiring an Office Manager to create and manage operational systems that support our mission and organization.
The position will start as part-time (20 hours/week) with the potential to become full-time. Strong candidates will be available to work 4 hours 5 days per week or 5 hours 4 days per week during weekday business hours.
The Office Manager will report to the Education Director. The position is based in Philadelphia, PA.
Responsibilities:
● Oversee office systems and functions, including facilities upkeep and communication intake. ● Coordinate hiring processes, employee payroll and benefits, timesheets and other records, and other human resource functions. ● Maintain database and paper and electronic files. ● Participate in supervising MMP Bookkeeper and overall financial management of organization. ● Manage organizational compliance and legal matters, including insurance, government requirements, and communication with volunteer legal counsel. ● Provide support to fundraising and program staff on grant and other reporting. ● Organize logistics for travel, meetings, and events. ● Coordinate office-based volunteers. ● Perform other responsibilities as necessary.
Qualifications:
● Motivation, discipline, flexibility, discretion, attention to detail, willingness to learn, positive attitude, and sense of humor. ● Desire and ability to problem-solve, perceive what is needed, and make things go well. ● Strong organizational skills. Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities and to work both independently and collaboratively. ● Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and handling information. ● Strong written and verbal communication skills. ● Strong computer skills. Familiarity with Salesforce/CRM databases or Quickbooks a plus. ● Desire to work in an environment that is diverse, fast-paced, and community-driven. ● Experience in non-profit office administration.● Ability to take and give direction. ● Ability to attend some night and weekend meetings and events. ● Bilingual in Spanish and English a big plus. ● Commitment to MMP’s mission.
Salary and benefits: The Office Manager position is part-time (20 hours/week). Salary is $18,750 per year. Benefits include $100/month health stipend and four weeks paid vacation.

Media Mobilizing Project Bookkeeper/Accountant – Philadelphia, PA
Job Description:
Media Mobilizing Project (MMP) is hiring a part-time (20 hours/week) full-charge Bookkeeper/ Accountant to oversee the organization’s financial operations.
The Bookkeeper/Accountant will report to the Education Director and the Office Manager. The position is based in Philadelphia, PA.
Responsibilities:
● Manage financial record-keeping, reporting and invoicing, including on two federal grants. ● Coordinate budget planning and monitoring. ● Input and reconcile all information in Quickbooks, including bank statements, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable. ● Prepare financial reports and schedules, including for audits and reviews. ● Prepare 1099s and other tax-related paperwork. ● Support fundraising team in preparing project, general, and program budgets for grant applications and reports. ● Perform other responsibilities as necessary.
Qualifications:
● Motivation, discipline, flexibility, discretion, attention to detail, willingness to learn, sense of humor, and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in entering and preparing information. ● Three to five years of bookkeeping or accounting experience and related degree or certification. ● Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel. ● Experience in financial reporting for federal grants a plus. ● Strong written and verbal communication skills. ● Commitment to MMP’s mission.
