Center for Literacy Needs Volunteer Tutors!
The Center for Literacy (CFL) is in need of volunteer tutors! As a tutor, you can help someone read to their child for the first time, get a better job, or go on to post-secondary education or training. As a volunteer tutor, you will not only positively affect someone’s life, you will also gain experience in education, and build valuable rewarding relationships.
Tutors are asked to make a six month commitment working one-on-one or in small groups with adult students. CFL provides training, all necessary materials, a place to meet, and ongoing support. Tutors serve throughout Philadelphia, although tutors interested in serving those in our Northwest Philadelphia locations (Mt. Airy and Germantown) are especially encouraged to contact us.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer tutor, please visit http://www.centerforliteracy.org and register for an orientation.
