Trust, Truth and the Future of Local News – Apr 3&4

The Philadelphia public radio station WHYY News is hosting a civic news conference in collaboration with Bridging Blocks and The Free Library of Philadelphia to explore civic journalism and newsroom practices for engaging communities. Discussion with WHYY News staff and panels of journalists will focus on civic debate and centering community members as a strategy to fill news and information gaps.
Participants will also learn about Bridging Blocks, a Philadelphia civic dialogue and engagement initiative made to prevent echo chambers and promote community dialogue across diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and topics.
Registration is free, and interested participants can register for one or both days of the summit.
