Trump and Our Water Systems: A StateImpact Discussion
by WHYY, Inc.
Recent focus on the quality of drinking water in cities like Flint, or near military installations like Willow Grove Air Force Base have stirred discussion on the responsibility of government regulators to ensure clean water and protect public health.
President Trump is committed to eliminating the Waters of the U.S. Rule, which outlines federally protected waterways. Critics of the rule say it is too inclusive and would hamper development and hurt farmers. Environmentalists say the rule is necessary to safeguard our ecosystems and drinking water.
How can the Trump Administration change existing water rules already in place, and what will happen to Obama Administration proposals? Join us for a discussion on these questions and more.
Complimentary light refreshments will be served.
