The Trenton Arts at Princeton (TAP) Program Coordinator is a brand-new position that supports the operational and logistical scope of TAP. The TAP Program Coordinator will be responsible for the administration of Saturday Morning Arts (SMArts), a co-curricular program through which Trenton public school students and Princeton University students gather every Saturday to engage in choral, dance, orchestral, and theatrical training. The TAP Program Coordinator will serve as the primary liaison for Trenton students and families involved in SMArts, for which Spanish-language fluency is required. The TAP Program Coordinator will also be responsible for integrating college access efforts into SMArts as well as exploring the feasibility of a new college access program that would support Trenton Central High School students who wish to major or minor in the arts in college. Furthermore, the TAP Program Coordinator will assist the TAP Program Manager in seeking out opportunities to collaborate with other campus units.
The position reports to the the TAP Program Manager, supervises an undergraduate Program Assistant, and assists the Program Manager and SMArts Directors with the supervision of 7+ undergraduate employees and 50+ undergraduate volunteers.
Trenton Arts at Princeton (TAP) is the University’s coordinator of co-curricular arts engagement activities in Trenton, with a particular focus on the public schools. Our mission is to build a multi-disciplinary community of artists across Trenton and Princeton University through student leadership and volunteer opportunities, youth programming, community performances, and more. TAP is a collaboration between the Department of Music, Lewis Center for the Arts, and Pace Center for Civic Engagement.
