Tree House Books Reading Promise Festival – Oct 9
Posted by Tree House Books on October 5, 2021
On Saturday, October 9th from 10am-1pm, Tree House Books will be celebrating Philadelphia Literacy Day as part of the city-wide Reading Promises Festival with a huge extravaganza in front of our Giving Library at 1430 West Susquehanna Avenue.
There will be a meet and greet, and book signings with these amazing children’s authors:
Andrea Tsurumi, Mr. Watson’s Chickens
Vanessa Howl, Foodie Flamingo
Jamilah Thompskins, Your Name is a Song
Christine Kendall, The True Definition of Neva Beane
Frank Murphy, A Friend Like You
Katherine Locke, Bedtime for Superheroes
Sarah Jacoby, Can I Sit With You
While she can’t read, there will also be a special appearance by Buttercup, the therapy horse. This message is straight from the horse’s mouth — “Quit horsing around and come have some fun with us; Hay, we really love literacy at Tree House Books.”
The event also includes Philadelphia’s largest book swap, the Traveling Tree House Book Mobile and storytelling time with local favorites Auntie Jo Jo the Storyteller, Tanisha Chambers, Pat McLean Smith and Maurice Williams.
