Tree House Books is a literacy center and giving library based in North Philadelphia serving children ages 0-16 and their families. Our mission is to grow and sustain a community of readers, writers, and thinkers in Philadelphia.
What makes us unique is that our programs move beyond traditional academics to include a social, emotional, and cultural focus. In addition to providing access to a wide variety of books, we foster a love of reading and cultivate awareness of the opportunities reading provides. We engage the community in holistic literacy activities that reflect our rich ethnic, racial, and cultural heritage, giving us all as readers time and space to examine issues we find relevant to our lives.
