Foundations presents workshop on childhood, adolescent trauma
Foundations Community Partnership, a philanthropic foundation benefiting youth in Bucks County invites educators, counselors, parents, and mental health professionals to attend their workshop on Treatment of Child and Adolescent Trauma: The Trauma Systems Therapy Approach on Wednesday., April 4th from 8:30am to noon at the Doylestown Health & Wellness Center in Warrington.
Expert Adam Douglass Brown, Psy.D., Clinical Assistant Professor, Senior Research Scientist at NYU Child Study Center will present an overview of the impact of traumatic events, particularly interpersonal trauma, on children and adolescents. Definitions and prevalence of trauma will be presented, as well as a focus on assessment and treatment. A particular treatment model, the Trauma Systems Therapy approach will be discussed, along with the opportunity for participants to have a hands-on experience working up a case through the TST process.
Also coming up is the workshop Evaluating Different Approaches for Supporting Children with Autism presented Stephen Shore, Ed.D., Assistant Professor of Special Education at Adelphi University on Tuesday, May 1st.
Workshops are held at the Doylestown Health & Wellness Center Auditorium, 847 Easton Rd./Rt. 611, Warrington. Cost is $55 for each workshop.
