Trauma-Informed Teaching Series – Fall cohort

Posted by PHENND on June 6, 2023

In Fall 2023, PHENND will once again offer a three-part series for educators in the Philadelphia region, to collectively learn about trauma, how it manifests itself in classroom settings, and how to change teaching practice to incorporate this knowledge. Participants will learn from a combination of guided facilitation, small reading assignments, and their own reflections on their teaching practice (as well as the shared reflections of others).

This series is open to educators across the spectrum, whether school-based, university-based, or community-based. If you have students, this is for you!

During September/October, we plan to run one cohort of 15-20 participants.  Depending on demand, we may schedule additional cohorts later in the year. Participants should expect each of the three sessions to take 2 hours with brief amounts of homework/reading in between sessions.

The upcoming cohort will meet on the following dates at 3:30-5:30 PM. Please mark your calendars!

–          Wednesday, September 27th (Kick-Off)

–          Wednesday, October 11th (Session #1)

–          Wednesday, October 25th (Session #2)

–          Wednesday, November 8th (Session #3)

Cost to participate in the series is $250 (total).  A small number of scholarships are available.  We also encourage teams of educators from the same institution/school/organization to participate and can negotiate group rates. If you would like a scholarship or to negotiate a group rate, please select “Pay by Invoice” so you do not have to enter credit card info at this time.

Enrollment will end Wednesday, September 13th. The course will only run if at least 15 people register. We will confirm that the course is or is not running by Wednesday, September 20th. If the course does not run, you will get a full refund.
