Trauma-Informed Practice for Teaching Artists
Posted by Stockton Rush Bartol Foundation on November 20, 2018
Philadelphia is working toward becoming a trauma-informed city in which public policy recognizes and supports those in our city whose lives are impacted by trauma. It is crucial that the work of teaching artists is seen as a strategy to help people deal with trauma and that teaching artists are equipped to effectively and responsibly work with participants who have been impacted by trauma.
In response to your requests for training in dealing with trauma-impacted participants, the Bartol Foundation has developed this in-depth series of workshops beginning March 2019. The training will take place on five Saturdays (9:00am-1:00pm) with a cohort of 12 teaching artists. Stipends of $200 are available for participants who complete the training.
