Trauma and Healing Through the Arts: An Interactive Workshop

Posted by on April 16, 2012

You are cordially invited to attend ArtWell’s upcoming event: Trauma and Healing Through the Arts: An Interactive Workshop for Educators, Counselors and Other Youth Professionals, on May 15th from 4-8pm at Moore College of Art and Design.

Dr. Sandra Bloom, a board certified psychiatrist, renowned author and co-director of the Center for Nonviolence and Social Justice at Drexel University’s School of Public Health, will lead the discussion on trauma and its effects on individuals, organizations and the collective society.  Dr. Bloom will also share key aspects of healing from trauma and review simple measures on how to respond to survivors of trauma.

Following Dr. Bloom’s presentation, ArtWell will provide hands on activities to equip participants with a deeper understanding of the power of the arts to catalyze healing and resilience in youth.  Participants will have the opportunity to learn new tools in expression and reflection on personal and professional experiences with trauma.

Afterwards, we invite all to stay for an optional food and drink reception.  Feel free to contact us with questions!

***All participants have the option of obtaining continuing education units: Act 48, PQAS***
