at Philadelphia’s Pyramid Club
PenTrans Forum
Continuing the Conversation:
Developing for Mobility and Access
PenTrans’ next forum will continue a process that will gather the region’s best thinking on how to address transportation issues. As we face a profoundly changing world environment, we struggle with three major stressors:
Energy scarcity
Climate change
Economic storm warnings
In this situation, we believe that addressing transportation problems hinges especially on building unified, coherent public policy solutions at every level of government.
We opened the conversation at the PenTrans June 25th Forum. Insights came from the leadership
of SEPTA, DVRPC, the City of Philadelphia, PenTrans and others.
At our upcoming Forum we will ask,
* How can we ensure that communities offer sustainable mobility and access for the region’s people?
* How can we design and redesign, adjust and retrofit in a way that gets people where they want to go while enhancing their quality of life and economic well-being?
To help us move toward answers PenTrans will expand our continuing conversation to include developers and advocates of approaches such as transit oriented development and public private partnership.
