GREATER PHILADELPHIA VETERANS NETWORK PRESENTS

A WEBINAR EVENT

“TRANSLATING YOUR RESUME FROM MILITARY TO CIVILIAN – DO’s & DON’TS”

WHEN:  Thursday January 27th, 20011 / 11:00am EST – 12:00pm EST
WHERE:  Webinar (more info to come)

Hear from a panel of Human Resources experts from various industries.  Two of the panelists are veterans who work in human resources and one is a civilian who works for a military friendly company.  They will be speaking about the resumes they receive from veterans and ways to improve your resume.

Panelists include:
*Matt Luther (Army National Guard) – National Director of Military Recruiting at Cintas Corporation (http://www.cintas.com)
*Josh Anderson (Marine Corps) – Military Recruiting Lead at Accenture (http://www.accenture.com)
*Jessica Dwyer – Talent Acquisition at The Jones Group  (http://www.jonesgroupinc.com)

Moderator:
*Alex Archawski – Founder/Director of Greater Philadelphia Veterans Network

Objective:
+ Review sample resumes (degree and non-degree) and break down each section of the resumes
+ Listen to some of the mistakes veterans do on their resumes
+ Learn how to ‘showcase’ your skill sets more prominently on your resume

Purpose of having this Webinar:
Many transitioning service members write their resumes in ‘TAPS’ classes.  Once they are out of the service, they often need to revise their objective and tailor their resumes to be more industry specific.
