The Training Manager is responsible for program development, design and execution of all aspects of WORC’s entrepreneurial training. Also responsible for marketing and growth of the programs. Evaluates programs to ensure quality, comply with contract requirements, objectives and benchmarks. This role interfaces and collaborates with internal business units and builds collaborative relationship with outside organizations and businesses. The Training Manager is a key member of the executive team and is responsible for collaborating to drive the strategy of the organization.
Functions and Responsibilities:
Program Design and Implementation:
• Develop, design and implement entrepreneurial training programs that enable clients to start and maintain successful businesses.
• Oversees outreach, intake, training, one-on-one business assistance and referral of clients to other appropriate resources and provides back up training as needed.
• Develops key business opportunities and resources in the community to strengthen post training business support. Oversees Market Access activities e.g. marketing, procurement opportunities, incubator, and WORCWeb.com.
• Evaluates services to ensure quality and achievement of program objectives. Analyzes data for quality and accuracy to make improvements to training program. Ensures all reports comply with contract requirements and are submitted in a timely fashion.
Management of Programs:
• Manages staff and contracted trainers to ensure the quality of program and execution. Responsible for team and staff development, recruiting, performance management and coaching as needed.
• Builds and maintains collaborative relationship with partners, organizations, businesses and funding agencies. Maintains current relationships and identifies and develops new relationships that will facilitate client and organizational growth.
Marketing and Communications:
• Responsible for marketing and public relations of training programs. Duties include public relations e.g. public speaking, press releases/press relations, advertising and public presentations.
• Responsible for internal and external communications of training programs e.g. communicates training expectations to students, coordinates mass mailings, and follow up contacts with clients who have graduated from the program.

• Demonstrated ability to lead a team and manage and develop staff.
• Strong management, leadership and training skills.
• Strong networking skills; ability to maintain/build collaborative relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and meet project deadlines.
• Adept at balancing intense short-term pressures with overall long-term goals.
• Broad knowledge of the skills required to successfully operate a small business.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and creative thinking abilities.
