Training: Domestic Violence & Health Care

Lutheran Settlement House’s Bilingual Domestic Violence Program is offering a training on Domestic Violence & Health Care on Friday, October 24th.
The training, co-sponsored by St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, will expand participants’ understanding of domestic violence, its impact on victims and their children, and effective intervention strategies in medical settings. Participants will learn about the key components of empowerment counseling, stages of change, and safety planning. Role plays and interactive exercises tailored to address issues faced by workers in health care settings will be used.
The training will take place from 9:30am-4:30pm at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, 3601 A Street, Philadelphia. The fee is $50 and includes lunch. Six Continuing Education Units for social workers will be offered for an additional $10.
