Training & Support Services Coordinator will support adult students and staff at Project H.O.M.E.’s Honickman Learning Center & Comcast Technology Labs (HLCCTL) in North Central Philadelphia. Since 2004 the Adult Learning and Workforce Development program (ALWD) has been providing low-income urban adults with computer classes, GED preparation, basic literacy, career trainings, and life skills. Our goal is to prevent poverty and homelessness by increasing access to technology, education, and workforce development opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Conduct all new student intake including interviews, assessments, and class placement
Update and maintain student files using Access database
Administer and score standardized tests according to strict testing guidelines
Provide academic and career counseling to enrolled students
Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for students with histories of addiction, mental illness, homelessness, and trauma. Provide referrals and advocate for students as needed.
Act as liasion between ALWD and case workers, parole officers, residential staff, etc.
Update brochures and fliers, oversee strategic outreach efforts for upcoming events
Order classroom supplies and books
Process check requests, handle incoming payments
Schedule and coordinate tutoring sessions for enrolled students
Supervise computer lab volunteers and ensure all computer use policies are enforced
Coordinate Benefit Bank/income tax appointments
Identify and organize library of resources for tutors and instructors
Produce quarterly reports, retrieve information from database
Attend meetings, trainings, and other events as requested
Continue to increase knowledge of adult education, GED testing, mental health, urban poverty, and other issues related to the position.
