The Training and Education Initiatives Manager works on a team of multidisciplinary learning and development professionals dedicated to enhancing the organizational health and wellness of our programs and staff through a variety of learning, training and professional development programs. Specifically, the Training & Education Initiatives Manager is responsible for facilitating the vision, design and development of internal employee learning strategies to support RHD’s mission, values, culture and strategic priorities. Using a systems-thinking approach, the individual will work closely with internal business partners to identify training needs, offer thought leadership and facilitate the creation of innovative learning solutions to meet those needs.

Essential Duties and Functions
- Develop training and educational strategies to support the quality of services and work life in programs nationally; including (but not limited to) the creation of training systems and the application of new and emerging technologies and methodologies;
- Conceptualize and lead initiatives to foster the development of the internal training capacity of programs and systems;
- Partner with internal business partners to craft learning solutions that address corporate training needs;
- Prepare and deliver reports and presentations on corporate learning initiatives;
- Develop training outcome measures and competency-based learning evaluations;
- Provide values-based supervision, support, and leadership to members of the training and education team; identify and create leadership and professional development opportunities for direct reports
- Identify emerging trends and best practices in training and education for RHD;
- Prepare, monitor and manage the training and education budget in partnership with Director of Learning and Development;
- Conduct a corporate-wide training needs assessment on a regular basis;
- Develop community partnerships with key external stakeholders nationally to advance the training capacity of the corporation;
- Instructional Design and training facilitation based on Adult Learning Principles as needed;
- Demonstrate effective teamwork and communication within L&D Team and across organizational divisions and departments;
- Promote and support a working environment consistent with the values based culture of RHD
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to travel (approximately 25%) required. Driver’s License required;
- Master’s Degree in a related field required (Organizational Development, Education, Human Resources etc);
- At least 5 years of experience in adult learning/training development and facilitation; training experience in clinical/human services setting preferred;
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience and leadership of teams; experience managing a training program/department preferred;
- Experience in project management;
- Knowledge of Adult Learning Theory and Principles;
- Experience with e-learning development software and learning management systems;
- Experience with instructional design and delivery in both the ILT and vILT medium;
- Experience with utilizing vILT platforms (WebEx, GoToMeeting, etc) at the instructor and/or producer level;
- Excellent organizational, written communication and presentation skills;
- Demonstrated ability to design, develop, implement, deliver and evaluate high-quality, impactful training and learning solutions using instructional design methodologies
- Highly technology-literate; ability to quickly learn new systems and tools
- Intermediate skill level in computer usage in various applications (MS Office applications, Internet and Intranet);
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, self-awareness and emotional intelligence
- High level of cultural competence and an ability to collaborate effectively with diverse populations
