Public Town Hall Meeting about
Pennsylvania’s Controversial ‘Keystone Exam’
“Will Pennsylvania Students Make the Grade to Earn their Diplomas?”

The general public is invited to an important community forum regarding the impact and implications of the recently approved statewide Keystone Exam.  This town hall meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 17, 2009 @ 7:00pm – 8:30pm, Bible Way Baptist Church, 52nd & Master Streets, Philadelphia, PA – Senior Pastor – Damone Jones, Sr., M.S. Div.  Parents, students, educators, school district administrators, clergy, etc., are strongly urged to attend.

This community forum will provide the general public with expert insights regarding the pros and cons of Pennsylvania’s new plan to offer a standardized statewide exam that students are required to pass to earn their high school diploma (beginning 2010-2011 school year). Millions of students, teachers, school district administrators and unions will be impacted by this standardize exam.

Ron Cowell, President-Education Policy and Leadership Center, Harrisburg, PA. Ron has served as President of The Education Policy and Leadership Center since 1999. He previously served for 24 years in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1975-1998) and 12 years as majority or minority chair of the House Committee on Education. During that time he also served on the boards of the Pennsylvania State Board of Education, the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) and Pennsylvania ‘s Interagency Coordinating Council for Early Intervention Programs.
