Town Hall: School Recovery Plan – Mar 30
Posted by Office of Councilmember Helen Gym on March 16, 2021
Philadelphia stands to gain over $1 billion in federal relief as part of the largest federal infusion of funding in history. Our schools could see hundreds of millions of dollars in new investments. It’s up to us to collectively build a vision for school recovery that leaves us stronger than ever. As staff get vaccinated and our youngest students return to school, my focus is on a full return to school that meets the needs of students, families, staff, and our city.
Over the next month, Councilmember Helen Gym will be convening public forums to build a transformative youth-centered schools budget. Her office is partnering with young people and advocates from across the city to hold these public events starting March 30, and throughout the month of April. We’re hearing from youth about their concerns and vision for safer and more supportive schools. And we want to hear from you! What are your priorities to meet the needs of young people as we look towards a budget that invests in our collective future.
