Third Annual Philly Spring Cleanup on April 10
Last year was so much fun that Mayor Nutter wants to do it again – mark your calendars for the annual Spring Cleanup!  It will be held on Saturday, April 10th, 2010 (rain date will be April 17th).

This year’s Cleanup, entitled “Keep Up the Sweep Up,” will be the start of a sustained effort by the City of Philadelphia to eliminate and prevent litter and illegal dumping — permanently. With ongoing strategies of education, enforcement, intense cleaning and beautification, we join with the Mayor in his commitment to making our City and our neighborhoods clean.

There will be wonderful projects and many opportunities to serve all over the City, and Greater Philadelphia Cares has two large projects:

Second Baptist Church
1801 Meadows Street
Philadelphia PA19124
10:00am – 4:00pm
Join neighbors  and other volunteers in cleaning  up the neighborhood – 400 volunteers are needed.

10th and West Moreland Street
Philadelphia PA 19140
Projects will include painting, sweeping and cleaning – 100 volunteers.

Contact Ray Gant at rohproject@comcast.net or call 215-744-1039 to sign up.  Make sure to include your full name, email address, phone number and the site you want to clean up!
