The Souls of Young Folk

The Art Sanctuary & North Stars present ?The Souls of Young Folk,? an exciting multimedia production featuring poetry, music and African dance on Friday April 29 and Saturday April 30 at 7 PM at the Church of the Advocate (18th & Diamond Streets in North Philly). Tickets are $5 and are available at the door.
The Art Sanctuary’s after school teens join Temple/Tyler students, resident artists and the Clef Club Youth Jazz Ensemble to respond to society?s depiction of who they are, their family relationships, hip hop culture, spirituality, war and politics. Post-show talk back session on Saturday night. Teaching artists: Poets Trapeta Mayson and Twin Poets, jazz guitarist Monnette Sudler-Honesty, African masquerade artist and drummer Ira Bond, dance choreographer LaTonya Grant and artist consultant at Temple/Tyler Dr. Billy Yalowitz.
