The Resurgence of Neighborhoods: Fueling DC’s Economic Growth
Posted by on September 30, 2013
On November 7th, the City First Family of Companies – City First Bank, City First Enterprises, City First Homes, City First New Markets Fund II, LLC, CFBanc Corporation and City First Foundation – is sponsoring a summit “The Resurgence of Neighborhoods: Fueling DC’s Economic Growth” at the Omni Shoreham Hotel.
We hope you will join us in this first, locally focused summit that is designed to spark a broad dialogue about our current economic environment in DC, the growth in the city – elected officials have noted about 1200 new people moving into DC each month – and how low and moderate income communities are impacted. Much of the changes we are seeing are in neighborhoods, not downtown, and we want to explore how this growth can be managed and the benefits equalized across all parts of the city, including outlying communities in Ward 7 and 8.
We have an extremely talented and knowledgeable group of speakers committed including Alice Rivlin, Margery Turner, Vickie Davis, Bo Menkiti, Chris Smith, Jim Abdo, Oramenta Newsome, Barbara Lang, Carol Thompson Cole, Victor Hoskins, Michael Kelly and Sandy Braunstein.
We hope that you will join us for the summit by registering to attend. There is a small registration fee of $75. All of the conference details are available at our foundation website, http://www.cityfirstfoundation.org.
