The Power of We Civic Learning Week Creativity Contest – Mar 1
Posted by National Youth Leadership Council on February 17, 2026
There are just over two weeks remaining, with a submission deadline of March 1, for students to submit their entries to The Power of We Creativity Contest, hosted by the National Youth Leadership Council (NYLC) in celebration of Civic Learning Week (March 9–13, 2026).
As America approaches its 250th anniversary, this contest invites young people to explore a timely and powerful question: How does working together for the common good make communities stronger?
We are encouraging students in grades 6-12 to think critically and creatively about civic engagement and collaboration, and to share their vision through original work in one of four categories:
- Essay
- Video/Multimedia
- Audio
- Visual/Written Art
One winning submission will be selected from each category. Each winner will receive a $1,000 prize.
Winners will be announced on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, during Civic Learning Week, and featured on the NYLC website and across partner networks.
Please share this opportunity with your students and networks. All submissions must be original student work. AI-written content will result in disqualification. Only one entry per student is permitted, and parental/guardian consent is required for participants under 18.
Questions may be directed to smurtaza@nylc.org with the subject line “Civic Learning Week Contest.”
