THE MOSAIC OF SERVICE CONFERENCE
Posted by on January 24, 2003
The CityCares 2003 Leadership Conference, to be held in Miami Beach, February 26 – March 2, is the one time each year for this unique group of leaders in volunteering and civic engagement to gather and reflect on their work of building communities through service. Lessons learned on the front lines of community service are exchanged and best practices are shared, while threads of connection among attendees are nurtured. The theme of this year’s conference, “The Mosaic of Service: Discovering Strength Through Diversity,” builds upon CityCares’ view of service as a vehicle for bridging differences within communities. Working from the backdrop provided by Miami, a city rich in a diverse cultural heritage, the conference will explore diverse approaches to service and civic engagement, and learn together how, through effective strategies for diversity management, the volunteer experience can enrich our communities in vital, lasting ways. The CityCares Leadership Conference, held annually, is open to all interested in innovative models for community engagement, effective volunteer management including employee volunteer programs, service learning, programs connecting service and civic engagement such as Citizen Academy, diversity and leading-edge corporate-nonprofit partnerships.
