The Longest Night 2022: find comfort in the midst of your struggles – Dec 21

Posted by Mayor's Office of Public Engagement on December 6, 2022

Are you feeling sad, lonely, disappointed, lost, anxious, or overwhelmed this winter holiday season? You’re not alone. The Mayor’s Office of Public Engagement invites you to our annual virtual event, The Longest Night.  Held on the Winter Solstice, this gathering is for us to acknowledge the variety of complicated feelings in our community at the end of a challenging and uncertain year.

This year, we’ve invited teaching artists to guide short workshops on artmaking that will bring comfort and hope. Because we have limited time and supplies, we ask that you sign-up in advance for your artmaking workshop. Please indicate your first and second preferences through the registration page linked below:

  • Photography
  • Painting
  • Poetry/Writing

Date and Time: Wednesday, December 21, 2022, 6:00 PM –  8:00 PM

Location: Lucien E. Blackwell Community Center, 761 N 47th St, Philadelphia, PA 19139

Register.
