The Invisible Child: Poverty in the Heartland

September 23-25, 2004: The Invisible Child: Poverty in the Heartland: Implications for Educators in New Concord, Ohio. The conference will bring national attention to the effects of poverty on teaching and learning. The conference will bring researchers and practitioners together to better understand the culture and learning styles of children from poverty, to examine the challenges confronting teachers and students in rural America, and to share effective strategies for improving teaching and learning. Included in the conference will be presentations by nationally recognized experts on education and poverty.
