The Hidden Rise in Asian American Poverty
The number of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) living in poverty has grown by more than a half million in the last five years, making this group one of the fastest- growing poor populations in the nation.
But the great diversity of skill and education level has largely masked this trend in studies that only look at AAPI communities in the aggregate. A new report by the National Coalition for Asian Pacific American Community Development breaks it down.
