The Frator Heru Institute Presents Workshops Saturdays March-April 2013

Agenda:
March 30: #017: HRS FACILITATOR INTENSIVE TRAINING WS: Time: 10a.m. – 3p.m.
The principal aim of this Human Race Studies (HRS) 1-day certification workshop (Certification optional) is to prepare participants to become “public authorities” on this critical and multifaceted issue in “post-racial America” (Not!). Participants will be provided clear, factual, definitive information and data to address the critical issues related to notions of race, racism and ethnicity with the objective of creating a healthy human racial ideology.
Fee: $25.00 (Or $50.00 for Certification)
Facilitator: Mr. Yumy Odom, HB, has been a multidisciplinary educator and scientist for over 30 years and introduced the first HRS Certification WS in the region in the Spring of 1990.

April 6: #008-A: 501(c)(3) SEMINAR: NON-PROFITS 10: Time: 11a.m. – 3p.m.
This course is designed to familiarize participants with an understanding of how to apply for tax-exempt status. It is not intended to provide legal or financial advice to participants. Participants will be referred to legal and accounting resources to assist should they decide to make a formal application for non-profit tax exempt status.
Fee: $50.00
Facilitator: Ms. Linda Waters Richardson has been working on community development projects for most of her professional career. She has been a grant maker and community organizer and currently serves as the President of the Uptown Entertainment & Development Corporation (UEDC, Inc.), owners of the Uptown Theater. She has a Master’s in Science from New Hampshire University.

April 13: HIV On-site Testing at The Institute: Time: 11a.m. – 3p.m.
The African Diasporan Men’s Health Consortium (ADMHC) and The Men’s Collaborative (TMC) host an on-site HIV Testing at The Institute w/ St. Christopher’s Hospital / The Dorothy Mann Center.
Testing is FREE and all are welcome!
Snacks provided.
