The Artist’s Role: An Evening of Live Performance and Connection – Apr 12
Posted by Asian Arts Initiative on April 8, 2025
Please join us on April 12th at 6:00 PM for The Artist’s Role at Asian Arts Initiative, 1219 Vine Street, Philadelphia. Inspired by Toni Cade Bambara’s assertion that “the role of an artist is to make the revolution irresistible,” The Artist’s Role is an evening of poetic, musical, and dance-based explorations of our roles in society.
While some artists will offer a balm for our hearts, others will help us question the status quo, and others yet will hold up a mirror to society through spoken word poetry, Carnatic music, Bharatanatyam fusion, Jazz and RnB vocal and saxophone performances.
Please join us for a night of captivating performances and community.
