Texans CARE

[Ed note: this is a project of three former Scholars in Service to PA students from Drexel University.]
Purpose
This summer, Texans C.A.R.E. is bringing together five college students from three universities (University of Texas at Austin, Rice University, and Drexel University) for a 4,000 mile cross-country cycling tour from Florida to California. The purpose of this organization is to increase hurricane impact awareness and to provide rebuilding assistance to Hurricane Katrina victims while bicycling across America. Throughout the Western portion of our ride, we will also help build other non-profit organizations by volunteering at domestic violence shelters, national state parks, and youth development groups.
How you can help
Our goal is to raise $15,000 for the local relief organizations we will b volunteering with, and to obtain sponsorships for the minimal necessities required to travel the Gulf Coast. However, due to our small group, we are limited in the degree to which we can create an impact. In order to make this project happen, we need YOUR help. We are currently accepting donations online at our website, or you can send a donation payable to Texans C.A.R.E. to:
