Job Title: Temporary Receptionist
Date of Employment: July 11 – October 14, 2005
Center: Center for Programs in Contemporary Writing
University of Pennsylvania

The Center for Programs in Contemporary Writing (at 3808 Walnut) is hiring a temporary receptionist for the period of July 11 to October 14, 2005. B.A. plus some administrative experience required. Position is 35 hours per week at $10/hour.

Responsibilities:

1. Receive incoming calls. Respond to questions, route calls and take messages as appropriate.
2. Greet students, instructors and other visitors to the center
3. Manage incoming and outgoing mail.
4. Monitor copy machine usage and maintenance. Assign copy codes as needed.
5. Handle building maintenance issues. Manage the general upkeep of the kitchen and other public areas. Act as liaison with building administrator and facilities department.
6. Schedule use of Room 111 (classroom)
7. Responsible for scheduling, invitations, reservations, ordering food and other preparation for meetings and training sessions.
8. Distribute, collect and process mid-term and end of semester course evaluations and diagnostics.
9. Take on new assignments as necessary.
10. Help with all administrative work pertaining to the activities and projects of CPCW
11. Attend staff meetings and supervision as requested.
