Posted by Temple University on April 2, 2024
Temple Teacher Residency (TTR) is an accelerated teacher education program devoted to preparing diverse and highly-motivated individuals to teach middle or high school mathematics, science, Spanish, or special education in high-need schools in the City of Philadelphia. In only 12 months (13.5 for special education), graduates earn a master in education (MEd) and complete necessary courses and fieldwork for Instructional I certification from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Our Vision
Temple Teacher Residency aims to improve the opportunities and achievement of all Philadelphia students by preparing highly qualified mathematics, science, world language, and special education teachers who are committed to the district and who reflect the diversity of the students it serves.
Our Mission
Temple Teacher Residency transforms individuals with strong academic backgrounds into the teachers that the students of Philadelphia need. Our intensive coursework, immersive clinical experiences in the classroom, and ongoing professional support equips graduates with the knowledge and ability to provide equitable, rigorous, culturally responsive and developmentally appropriate instruction to all students.
Apply today! Students in Temple Teacher Residency typically begin coursework during the Summer II term.
