TeenSHARP program looking for youth

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The TeenSHARP program develops youth that are SHARP (Successful, High-Achieving, Reaching Potential) and ready to serve as thought leaders in a globalized world. The program equips youth with the skills, knowledge, and high standards necessary for leadership and academic success. TeenSHARP prepares participants for and promotes the highest levels of educational attainment and achievement. To accomplish this youth are trained in critical thinking and reading, problem-solving, effective verbal and written communication, applied research, youth organizing, action planning, and project implementation. TeenSHARP also works closely with families to help them be effective in preparing their children for dealing with 21st century challenges and excelling in a rapidly changing society.
PROGRAM FAQS:
WHO IS ELIGIBLE? Youth ages 10 to 17.
HOW MUCH TIME IS REQUIRED? TeenSHARP meets two Saturdays a month at Rutgers University-Camden from 11:00 am-2:00pm. Parent sessions are held once a month for one hour. Successful completion of the program requires regular attendance and participation in program excursions and experiential learning projects.
WHAT IS THE COST? There is a $100 registration fee for students accepted in the program.
