TeenSHARP College Prep and Youth Leadership program is accepting applications
Deadline: August 20th
TeenSHARP is looking for intellectually curious and passionate students in grades 7th through 11th for its College Discovery Program (middle school students) and College Access Ambassador Training (high school students). The program is designed for high-achieving high school students who are striving for academic excellence and have a passion for their community. As TeenSHARP scholars students will develop strong personal habits, deep understanding of the college admissions process, grapple with social justice issues, and build superior leadership skills. TeenSHARP students are accomplishing great things at a young age: they have interviewed First Lady Michelle Obama, studied in China, met US Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, attended the annual TEDxTeen conference in NYC, and earned scholarships to attend some of the nation’s most selective colleges, including University of Penn, Georgetown University, Emory University, University of Virginia, Smith College, Williams College, to name a few.

TeenSHARP is looking for instructors!
TeenSHARP prepares students of color in the Philadelphia region for admission into selective colleges while developing them as ambassadors of higher education in their communities.
Who: We are recruiting undergraduate and graduate students as well as interested professionals to instruct the TeenSHARP leadership curriculum as well as teach English and math Saturday classes for TeenSHARP’s middle school scholars. We are looking for passionate individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or at least 2-3 years of undergraduate coursework completed)
- Strong academic track record
- Experience working with a college prep program, college admissions office or an academic advising program is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong active listening and relationship building skills
- Passionate about working with underrepresented students
- Commitment to social justice
- Saturday availability during the school year

Location: TeenSHARP sessions take place from 10:00AM to 4:30 PM on Saturdays during the fall and spring semesters on the Rutgers-Camden campus (the program does not meet on Thanksgiving and Easter and has a winter holiday break).
Time commitment: Instructors will work approximately 12 hours a week (included classes). Instructors will receive training prior to and during their service.
