Teen Program Math Instructor
Location: Honickman Learning Center & Comcast Technology Labs
The Teen College Access Program is looking for a Math Instructor who will provide instruction to high school students 2-3 days a week in our after school program– 3 hrs/day, days of week somewhat flexible. SAT prep experience is a plus.
The instructor is responsible for creation and implementation of lesson plans. Instructor works collaboratively with tutors, education enrichment specialist and program manager.
Essential responsibilities include:
- Develop daily lesson plans and larger units for the seminar class
- Instruct classes and manage classroom
- Ensure the creation and completion of projects by each student or student group throughout the semester
- Assist students with work and homework if time allows
- Collaborate with teen core staff in developing project-based learning modules and lesson plans that build academic skills and technology competencies
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Math or related field.
- Experience with at-risk students in an urban environment;
- Excellent organization, planning and reporting skills;
- Excellent verbal, written & interpersonal skills;
- Strong relationship building & networking skills;
- Ability to work independently and function as an integral part of a team;
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
