Free Comprehensive Sex Education Programming for OST Programs and Schools
OIC of America’s Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program provides free, comprehensive sex education programming to youth between the ages of 12 to 19. This is a federally funded initiative awarded by the US Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Adolescent Health. We are currently looking to partner with OST programs during the summer and public, private and charter schools in the fall. Our trained health educators implement two evidence based, medically accurate curricula for middle school and high school youth.
The middle school curriculum is called Becoming a Responsible Teen (BART). This is primarily an HIV prevention program that engages youth to become empowered to educate community members and become agents of change. BART is a total of eight sessions, each session being 90 minutes long. Each lesson is very interactive and engaging with student-led discussions.
The high school curriculum is called Reducing the Risk (RTR). This curriculum focuses upon abstinence as being 100% effective but then transitions into discussing refusal skills, delay tactics, contraceptives, teen pregnancy prevention, STD/STI and HIV prevention. RTR is a total of 16 lessons, each lesson being 45 minutes long.
If you are interested in having this free, effective program in your school or OST program, please feel free to call or email me for further information!
