GENERAL SUMMARY: Creates and manages technology instruction, including Boys & Girls Clubs of America and other technology-based programs designed to improve the knowledge and proficiency of club members in the use of technology. Works with the program director and outcome measurement manager to ensure -that programs are being measured effectively and that data is being analyzed and informs decisions about program curriculum and offerings. Works closely with unit director, program and central office staff to create an innovative curriculum that is applicable to club members ranging in age from six to nineteen years of age.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
– Oversee technology instruction at two clubs.
– Using Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s curriculum as a guide, teach children, ages six to 19 years, in-depth computer-based skills ranging from Microsoft software programs, including Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint and Publisher; networking; hardware installation and repair; website design and computer generated art from graphic design to movie making.
– Supervise time children spend in computer lab to ensure appropriate use of the internet.
– Work with other staff to evaluate the effectiveness of technology instruction.
– Maintains an inventory of technology equipment and materials; coordinate purchase of new equipment when necessary.
– Provide training for teachers, administrators and support staff to ensure the appropriate application of technology
– Submit an annual report describing the effectiveness of the instructional technology program including recommendations for improvement.
– Assist in developing the budget for purchase of technology hardware
Requirements
– Two yeasrs college required in related field, four year degree preferred
– Experience teaching technology to children
