Teaching about Resistance and Sovereignty: The CHOICES Approach – Apr 23

This engaging, hands-on workshop will include an introduction to the Choices Program’s award-winning resources and approach to teaching about the global effects of colonization, revolution, and independence. Explore in depth the Choices unit The Iranian Revolution and sample lessons from the Choices unit on Colonization and Independence in Africa. Attend tours with an Iraqi Global Guide or a Congolese Global Guide in the Penn Museum’s newly renovated Galleries, paired with an interactive talk about revolution and independence throughout the Middle East and North African region.
Cost: The regular registration fee for this workshop is $145. Ten $100 scholarships are available to the first ten registrants, thanks to the Penn South Asia Center and Middle East Center.
