The mission of Green Woods Charter School is to provide children in grades K through 8 with the opportunity to be active, knowledgeable and conscientious young investigators by fostering a keen understanding of the interrelatedness and interdependence of our local and global existence.

Green Woods Charter School is now accepting applications for multiple elementary level teaching positions for the 2011-2012 school year. These are PA State certified positions.  Please submit a cover letter and resume along with the PA standard teaching application, transcripts, current PA certification, all applicable clearances, and three current letters of recommendation.

Responsibilities
-Develop effective lesson plans, homework assignments and assessments that align with state standards
-Effectively and consistently design and deliver high-quality, standards based instruction
-Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to differentiate instruction and adjust instructional strategies to meet student needs.
-Demonstrate the ability to create and teach integrated, cross-curricular lessons
-Exhibit a knowledge of, and passion for, environmental education

Qualifications
-A minimum of three years elementary level experience as a lead elementary teacher
-PA certification in elementary education
-A strong belief in teaching a standards-based, integrated curriculum
-Motivated, self starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and “can-do” attitude
-Strong classroom management skills
-Ability to communicate effectively with parents and all members of our internal and external community
-Ability to work in a collaborative and professional team setting
-Personal accountability for student achievement
